Hi, I’m Omar.

I’m a passionate software developer with a unique journey that began in the Dominican Republic. Growing up in a vibrant culture filled with music, food, and rich traditions, I was introduced to technology at the age of 15. This experience sparked my interest in computers.

At 16, I moved to the United States with my family, where I faced numerous challenges—learning a new language, navigating a different culture, and adjusting to life at Evander Childs High School, one of New York City’s most challenging high schools. Despite these hurdles, I graduated on time and followed my passion for technology by enrolling in City College’s computer science program.

After obtaining my degree, I worked as a technology specialist at a middle school in the Bronx. It was here that I began solving real-world problems. When tasked with digitizing the school’s weekly progress reports, I built a simple yet efficient system that streamlined the process for teachers and administrators. This small project laid the foundation for EdBoard—a comprehensive Student Information System (SIS) that I built from scratch. EdBoard simplified a wide range of tasks, from tracking student progress to organizing awards and managing administrative reports. It became a vital tool for schools.

On a personal note, I’m a husband and father of two girls. I love going back to the Dominican Republic whenever I can and am on a mission to explore every inch of the country. In my downtime, you’ll find me listening to podcasts or chasing the next tech challenge.

If you’d like to discuss EdBoard, my experiences, or anything tech-related, feel free to reach out. Always happy to connect! I’m driven by the desire to create solutions that make life easier for users and look forward to the next challenge.
